  • Youth Collaborative received the 2008 City of Alameda Heroes Community Service Award/Organization.
  • Job Skills Workshop held for teens
  • Teen Job Faire
  • Community recognition by Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce and Eagle Scout Leadership & Recognition Awards luncheon.
  • Personal introductory teen tours of the newly-renovated Alameda Historical Theater.
  • Alameda Walks!
  • Walk & Roll to School Day
  • Member of an Alameda County-wide partnership with the Public Health Department on "Youth Developmental Assets".
  • City-sponsored Youth Advisory Commission established in 2007.
  • Alameda Youth Speaks! Quarterly meetings with Police Chief Tibbet and teens.
  • Youth Yellow Pages created by and for teens.
  • Middle & High School Season for Nonviolence Speech Contest.
  • Tree planting project: instrumental in bringing environmental group to plant fruit trees with the students at individual schools.
  • Over a decade of action serving Alameda's families and youth.
  • "In the Mix" a conference for mixed race youth & families.
  • A teen magazine "Out Loud - Thoughts of a Teenage Mind" created by and for youth.
  • Promotes the Season for Nonviolence throughout the community.
  • Alameda Teen Action Council's recommended "Student Guide to the AUSD Community Service Graduation Requirement" approved by the School Board. (2004)
  • Conducted a Lights On! VIP tour of several Alameda after school facilities to familiarize city officials on the value and need for after school programming. (2003-04)
  • Created and Developed the Afterschool Service Corps (ASC)to provide a means for high school students to serve younger kids in after school programs with help in homework, recreation, arts and crafts, reading skills, etc. (2003)
  • Alameda Teen Action Council was created to serve as a teen voice to the Collaborative. The Youth Yellow Pages was produced by this group.
  • Make A Circus was invited to Alameda by ACCYF for the benefit of all Alameda's families at no cost to them (2002).
  • Partnered with County Supervisor Alice Lai-Bitker and the Alameda Police Department to distribute booster seats to low-income families (2002).
  • Kids Need Us. Make Time: a Report on the Status of Children, Youth and Their Families. April, 2001.
  • After a survey of all youth-serving organizations in Alameda, a Community Youth Needs Assessment was published in 1998. Data presented in this assessment is the most current published data about the children, youth and families of this community. Our 2001 Action Plan is directly related to the needs identified in this report.
  • The Directory of Youth Services: a comprehensive phone directory of education and childcare resources, youth activities and health and welfare services for youth and families in Alameda.
  • The Collaborative supported successful applications for the Encinal and Wood Chip Healthy Start Programs.
  • The Collaborative supported the expansion and funding for WAY- Work for Alameda Youth, a youth-run job placement program.
  • The Collaborative members and staff helped coordinate, organize, and assist the construction of Cityview Skatepark.
  • The Collaborative supports a local Childcare Council, which meets monthly to discuss issues and create programs to address child care concerns in Alameda.
